Context

The current agentic landscape is shifting from single-model interactions to multi-agent swarms requiring robust isolation and orchestration. Developers need infrastructure to manage concurrent agent tasks without interference, particularly when using CLI tools like Claude Code or Codex. Git worktrees provide a filesystem-native mechanism for isolating these tasks, preventing state pollution between parallel agent sessions.

Relevance

Superset addresses the infrastructure gap for local-first multi-agent development. It aligns with the Terminal-Native Agentic Workflows circuit by prioritizing scriptability and local execution over chat-based interfaces. The tool supports the Agent Tooling and Skill Interoperability Infrastructure by enabling agents to operate across frameworks without vendor lock-in.

Current State

The tool is released as an Electron-based desktop application targeting macOS. It supports running 10+ coding agents simultaneously and utilizes git worktrees for task isolation. It includes a built-in diff viewer and editor for reviewing agent changes, with one-click handoff to external editors or terminals.

Open Questions

The extent of Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration remains to be verified against the primary source. Security boundaries for parallel agent execution and the handling of untrusted code in isolated workspaces require further evaluation. The long-term maintenance model and compatibility with evolving CLI agent standards are not yet established.

Connections

Superset functions as a specialized orchestration layer similar to emdash, which also enables parallel execution of coding agents. It shares the Electron desktop architecture pattern found in clawwork, providing a visual management interface for agent workflows. Like multi-agent-shogun, it utilizes terminal-based orchestration, though Superset focuses on desktop integration rather than tmux.
