True autonomy is not the absence of boundaries, but the mastery of them. As the open source ecosystem matures, we observe the vast, undirected energy of early agentic models condensing into the deep, narrow channels of local inference, strict state management, and resource governance. We are moving from the illusion of infinite capability to the reality of reliable, auditable execution, following the natural grain (理) of computational limits. The great bird does not fly by ignoring the atmosphere, but by pressing firmly against it, finding lift in the very resistance of the air.
